SMBE Satellite Meeting on Eukaryotic-Omics

The SMBE Satellite Meeting on Eukaryotic -Omics will take place at UC Davis from Monday April 29 - Thursday May 2nd, 2013.

Meeting program, abstract submission guidelines, and registration information can be found at the meeting website: http://www.smbe.org/eukaryotes

The SMBE Satellite Meeting on Eukaryotic -Omics will bring together an interdisciplinary pool of researchers to discuss current efforts, challenges, and future directions for high-throughput sequencing approaches focused on microbial eukaryotes (environmental studies of non-model organisms). The meeting program will encompass investigations of eukaryote biodiversity, ecology, and evolution, using approaches such as rRNA marker genes, shotgun metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, and computational biology tools and software pipelines.

The meeting will also followed by a 2.5 day QIIME workshop, running Thursday afternoon May 2nd through Saturday May 4th.

For those unable to attend in person, we encourage you to follow the official conference hashtag on Twitter - #SMBEeuks

About

The Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution is an international organization whose goals are to provide facilities for association and communication among molecular evolutionists and to further the goals of molecular evolution, as well as its practitioners and teachers. In order to accomplish these goals, the Society publishes two peer-reviewed journals, Molecular Biology and Evolution and Genome Biology and Evolution. The Society sponsors an annual meeting, as well as smaller satellite meetings or workshop on important, focused, and timely topics.
